Proctor – A disinterested third party, with minimum age of 18 years old who can be any person except for family members or individuals who have a financial interest in the student’s success on the exam. Co-worker proctors must not be above or below in the student’s line of supervision.
Your proctored exam will be taken through our online course and will require you to have a third party witness sit with you while you take the proctored exam. A disinterested third party witness is someone who isn't a family member, hiring manager, or individuals who have a financial interest in the student’s success on the exam . Some good examples of a third party witness but not limited to are your neighbors, a principal, or your local librarian. Your proctor will be required to fill out some basic information when starting the test and again at the end of your proctored exam. Your proctor will be required to sit with you for the duration of your exam. Some states require a few extra steps for you or your proctor. Please see the special states below if you live in New York, Minnesota, or Ohio as they contain a few extra steps for the proctored exam.
Minnesota and Ohio will require your proctor to fill out an Affidavit form after you have finished and passed your proctor. These forms will be provided for each student automatically by the License Coach. These forms will be filled out with black ink and either scanned and emailed to coach@licensecoach.com or faxed to us at
888-839-5412.
New York will require students to use a proctor that is approved by the state. I have listed the link below that students will need to use in order to find an approved new york monitor/proctor.

You may choose a monitor for your proctored exam from this list.
